31/06/07: KSP@Cliffhanger…
As an active climber and photographer and long-time Sheffield resident, I’m very pleased to be so heavily involved in Cliffhanger. My bit in the spot-light will be…
Cliffhanger, the brain-child of Matt Heason of Heason Events, promises to be the outdoor event of the year for climbers and outdoor enthusiasts. The 2-day, outdoor-pursuitfest is expected to pull 20k plus visitors to Graves Park. For more details of Cliffhanger and a pdf programme go to www.cliff-hanger.co.uk. ‘P’ is for (Climbing) Photography is going to be a blast though the mine-field that is climbing photography. Starting with my vision of what makes a great climbing photograph, I’ll then outline my 8-Point PhotoPlan which includes essential photo-basics like equipment selection, lighting, composition and creative camera/lens control. I’ll also be going through my ‘gear bag’, touching on photo processing and then sharing the pain that is roped-access, the means by which I to get into the right position to get the right image. Finally, a quick slide-show of my personal favourite climbing and scenic images from the Pennines will complete my presentation. After the presentation, 3 lucky winners will be drawn for Sunday’s PhotoWorkshop. Home and Away is a collection of my printed images which includes some personal favourite climbing and scenic images from around the UK, Europe and Beyond. I’ll be in and around the exhibition all weekend so if you see me there, stop me for a chat and if you feel like acquiring some new real estate, buy a print or two! The PhotoWorkshop will be a 2-hour intense workshop where I’ll be leading a group of 8 lucky competition winners though the process of capturing images of climbing action. We’ll start by a quick run through my 8-Point PhotoPlan and then dive head-long into a photo-session to capture the thrill and spills of the Climbing Dyno-competition. A wrap-up-cum-debrief session will complete the workshop. Attendees at the PhotoWorkshop will be invited to submit 3 images for critique and possible inclusion in a PhotoWorkshop report. For your chance to get 1 of the 8 FREE PhotoWorkshop places, click through here and enter the FREE competition NOW… Cliffhanger promises to be a great event. Hopefully, I’ll see you there… |
